Scott R. Mertie
Scott is a senior manager in Health Care at HORNE where he consults on various reimbursement issues for clients throughout the country as well as compiles and reviews Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. His clients include medical/surgical and specialty hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, ambulatory surgery centers and rural health clinics.
Scott joined HORNE in May of 2000 and has nearly 15 years of operational and financial experience in the health care industry. He has extensive managerial experience and an in-depth knowledge of operations for various types of healthcare facilities. His experience includes accounting manager for a Nashville-based hospital management company, developing and managing a freestanding ASC for a Nashville area hospital and Controller for a 20-physician medical practice, also located in Nashville. He has published several articles and is listed in the National Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.
Scott received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio State University with a major in accounting, followed by a master’s in business at Middle Tennessee State University.
