Kelly L. McQueen, CPA
Kelly is a senior manager of MEMA Recovery Accounting in Biloxi, MS. He is part of a team of financial analysts responsible for processing requests for public assistance funding for state and local government agencies and non-profit organizations. The team obtains and reviews documentation to support claims for assistance and makes a recommendation to the State for funding. Kelly attends FEMA and State staff meetings to discuss applicant issues and participates in their resolution. He also participates in applicant meetings assisting with the explanation of FEMA policy, disaster specific guidelines and the State of Mississippi’s procedure for funding.
Kelly joined HORNE LLP in February 2006 adding to a 30 year professional accounting career. Prior to joining HORNE, he was a controller for a physician group operating in Gulfport, MS, and Slidell, LA. He has extensive experience in tax, governmental accounting and health care practice management. Additionally, Kelly served 16 years as a municipal elected official in his hometown of Picayune, MS.
Kelly earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mississippi State University.
